Our door is always open. We are here to help.
A HUGE thank you for the opportunity to speak with your students last week! I had such a blast with your students and already wishing I could go back and do it all over again!
I am truly humbled by the outpouring of messages and support I've had from your students in response to my presentation including some of their messages on Instagram below:
''I really appreciate the message you shared with us at Rigby high school! It was something I really needed to hear. Now I reconsider each choice I make and see things with an optimistic perspective. Good work, keep changing the world one student at a time!''
''I just wanted to say thank you so much for speaking today at Rigby Highschool. I have been going through a hard time in my life with a recent break up and really need that extra comfort of support! Thank you for helping me get back up on my feet 💙 I really do appreciate you helping me with my mental health. It means a lot!''
''Hay!!! My name is Madison and I am from Rigby.... I just wanted to thank you for the presentation! I have been going through a hard patch and Recently someone I was very very close to died of pancreatic cancer.... I was in this stage of self hate and I blamed myself... You are very kind and I am so grateful for the chance to listen!! Your example has helped me realize I want to be like you and use my trials as leverage to become something more! Thank you so much!!!! ❤️"
It's been such a tough journey personally and often feel quite vulnerable on stage, but receiving messages like this remind me why I get back up and do it all over again - as I know at least one student will walk away empowered to make a better choice about their response to the hard things in their life. My sister always inspired me in that way, and now I love I get to share her legacy to inspire others as well.
I also thought you might enjoy listening to my latest podcast episode which is an interview with Nate (my tour manager) all about my experience in Idaho Falls and speaking at your school last week: https://www.katefitzsimons.com/blog/interview-with-kate
I absolutely plan on returning to Idaho again next December, and would love the chance to speak with your students again then if possible! I'm sure you'll hear from Bob about it all.
But in the meantime I wish you a very Merry Christmas holidays and please say a big G'DAY to all the students for me (ohh how I'd love to hear you attempt a G'DAY in an Aussie accent ;))
Take care, Kate
